Photographer Michel Nafziger envisions the female nude as a revelation. A revelation of the form and raw emotion, momentary and spontaneous, yet captured cautiously through prolonged exposure. The body’s graceful movement — echoing the refined classicism of Venus and the Odalisque, of Velasquez and Ingres — is enhanced by a photographic technique invoking, in its subtlety and seduction, the modernist opacity of Modigliani’s nudes.
