So like most people, we love to maximise our time while visiting a place… theatre, food, galleries, shopping… food, sightseeing…. did I mention food?!? 🙂
Well, we recently had the most amazing opportunity to have a completely hassle free day in London… actually… it wasn’t so much of an opportunity, but more of a challenge…. And I luuuuuurve a good challenge… especially when in London! So, anyway.. back to the challenge – Santander set us the challenge on how we can keep within a budget while heading around our wonderful city while making the day completely hassle-free!
Where to Eat: Our first day of being hassle-free was grabbing an Uber straight into Covent Garden. Our first foody delight was Clos Maggiore, a wonderful French restaurant in the heart of the Covent Garden. For starters, we had the most amazing Salmon and Pate, for our main course we had the most tender lamb EVER! Not only was the lamb tender, it was juicy and perfectly complimented our red wine 🙂 By the time dessert came around we were already stuffed… but like we said… it was our challenge day… so, POW! The most amazing Eton Mess was devoured! Clos Maggiore was certainly a great place for French food and we didn’t have to travel a few hours to France!
Where To Spend Some free Hours: After our filling our tummies in Clos Maggiore we decided to take a wander around The National Portrait Gallery on Trafalgar Square. It was a great opportunity to see some contemporary paintings of notable people from; the Royal Family, Celebrities, Sports Stars and Scientists… even as far back as seeing the portraits of Henry VIII! It was awesome and a perfect way to wander around and see some of the UK’s most influential portraits of people.
Where to Get the Best Milkshakes: Hands down… Ed’s Diner is the best place I have ever got a milkshake from! I devoured my chocolate shakes in minutes, While Yahaya grabbed a peanut butter shake that I NEEDED to be in my belly too! Damn milkshakes… being so delicious!
What to See in The West End: For our evening adventure we went to see Miss Saigon in the West-End. WOW, it was amazing… you may remember that we went to Ho Chi Minh a few months ago. If you haven’t seen Miss Saigon…. GO… I wont spoil the storyline for you… just trust me… GO, GO, GO!!!
Where To have a Breathtaking Meal in London: Hands Down, Sushi Samba won! The restaurant, towering 38 floors above London, was such a treat that I thought security would have to push us out! The food, the service, the drinks, the sparkling tree…. WOW! If you get to NYC, Las Vegas or London… head to Sushi Samba, it’s not to be missed. We couldn’t quite reach our budget to the £1000 Kobe Beef platter, but we got some amazing Samba Rolls, Sushi and Peruvian cod dishes!
By the time we got home, it was a whole new day! We had a total blast and it was a truly hassle free day, just like Santander promised! this hassle free day was epic, I kinda wish every day was like this! The really great thing about this hassle-free day is that Santander have also launched their hassle-free day for everyone to enjoy with their switching service for the 123 Current Account, whats even better is that you get cash back on the direct debits and bills that transact through your account… Santander even allow you to calculate how you can save money with their cash back calculator, so you can be sure that switching is the right thing for you.
