One of the biggest challenges that I have is to continue my effort to stay healthy, especially around the holidays when my inner-greed monster comes out in full force! Yes, we all deserve a little indulgence, but over the last 12 months, my indulgences seem to be coming much more frequent. This, in itself, has been a problem… mainly because I want to stay healthy (and happy).

Over the last few months, I’ve been taking my health into my own hands (so to speak). I’ve decided to grapple with my want for chocolate and all things sweet and really take a hold of my health over the coming year.

As with any change in habits, I knew I wanted to measure and be able to quantify my effort… after all, everyone likes to see results, right?

One way I’ve been planning to do this is via my new Withings Body Cardio Scales, which promises to do just that… help my monitor and better get to know my body and heart.

With a whole host of world-first features, my Withings Scales allows me to monitor my cardiovascular health, better understand my body composition and even tells me how much water is in my body! After all, cardiovascular diseases are the number one cause of death worldwide – yet 90 percent are totally preventable.

The Body Cardio provides you with data on your standing heart rate and fat mass which gives you a daily snapshot of your heart health! All these features are great on their own, but what makes it even more advanced is that it connects simply to the Health Mate app that helps you track and follow your progress (which is essential for me).

I’ve been using my scales for a little while now and the precise weight and body fat measurements are really helping me to feed my willpower in making positive changes – helped along with the tips that the Health Mate app offers to meet my optimal health.

For me, I always feel like counting calories is just one way to maintain or get to our optimal health… I always need to see precise, clear and trustworthy results that I can rely on – something I’ll be focusing on for the year ahead!
